My thoughts exactly. Unlike you, I now have 3 girls and there are folks around me who are "disappointed" that the latest addition was another girl and worse when I announced that 3 is all for us.

But like you, what matters is not whether we have boys or girls, its about caring and raising the ones that we have the best that we can.

Here's to our all girls (mine) and all-boys (yours) family :-D

I know what you mean. I am thinking of the same too as I am also not a natural and born housewife-fulltime-mom kind.

I love having my kids around me most times but I am not crazy about house chores, being confined at home and having no other "goal" but to care for the kids.

However, what I'm thinking right now is to have some time off a few times a week for activities away from home where my husband can look after the kids and I can let go of this responsibility for a while.

Anyway, all the best in the new job.

Severe dehydration was exactly what happened to Eric. Part of me blamed myself, but I was also terrible angry at the doctors I referred to for not insisting that Eric gets treatment immediately. "Dehydration" seems like such a mild term compared to how horribly dangerous it can affect our kids.

I can imagine what it was like when your son had that serious case.

A few months ago when both of mine had chicken pox (back to back) they too were vomitting and having diarrhea for a few days. But over here, I was told of signs to watch (dehydration) before I need to send them to the emergency room and thankfully, none of them reach that stage.

But it was scary too for me as it was also the first time that both of them had these symptoms and I was clueless as to what to expect.

Let's hope none of them will ever go through what Eric went through then.

You're lucky that your boys love hugs. I know some small boys who don't hugs - maybe because the parents don't hug them so it's not something they are comfortable with.

I love being affectionate with my kids and I'm glad that my girls are affectionate to us too. That's one of the best thing about being parents, don't you think?
